We believe the youth of St. Bartholomew, as baptized members of the people of God, are called to full participation in our parish community and its contribution to the world. Our focus is directed specifically toward youth in grades 6-12 and their families, as well as extending to other individuals who affect their lives.
Therefore we will:
- Provide opportunities to discover truth and knowledge through the teachings of Jesus Christ.
- Strive to inspire, through shared leadership, a courageous commitment to act with faith, love and compassion.
- Work to integrate the youth, their gifts, talents and energy, into all aspects of
St. Bartholomew's parish life.
Middle School Faith Formation Curriculum
Saint Bartholomew’s middle school faith formation curriculum is based on Youth Ministry Access, an online database with more than 250 topics to choose from. Youth Ministry Access is provided by the Center for Ministry Development, which has provided innovative, practical and user-friendly Catholic resources and training programs for leaders in Catholic youth ministry for 30 years.
The resources and materials in Youth Ministry Access follow a seasonal model of planning for youth ministry and touch on the components of middle school youth ministry. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry and a leadership group of middle school faith formation students work together to establish the topics and events for the year. This approach provides middle schoolers with a forum with open discussions and fun activities to enhance their faith journey.
