Justice and Service Commission

Are you interested in learning how your Catholic faith informs social issues? Are you passionate about serving others or want to be?

Mission statement

The Justice & Service Commission at St. Bartholomew seeks to model Jesus’ gift of self through prayer, education, advocacy, and service for the common good.

This commission will focus on bringing to life Jesus’ call to serve, particularly through the Strategic Plan’s Goal #5: Becoming a parish concerned with social justice.

How It Works

(1) The Commission Members: Members will receive formation on Catholic Social Teaching and how it informs social issues.

(2) The Parish: From there, members will strive to educate the parish on such topics.

(3) The Community: Finally, members will seek to mobilize the parish through identifying, organizing, and executing advocacy/prayer/service opportunities.

If you would like to serve on the Commission, please prayerfully review the Justice and Service Commission Position Description.
